Mr. Walczyk has been involved in the real estate industry and accounting for 27 years. He began his career with Ernst & Young as a financial auditor in 1982, managing a variety of clients, with a focus on real estate and financial institutions. In 1992, he joined the Prime Group, Inc. which at that time was a diversified real estate holding, development and management company with assets of approximately $500 million. He was Director of Corporate Accounting, responsible for corporate accounting and cash management.

In 1996, he joined Brookdale Living Communities as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Brookdale Living Communities was a publicly traded senior and assisted living company and a subsidiary of the Prime Group. He joined Brookdale prior to its IPO and was one of the leaders in taking the company public and through a period of rapid growth. Mr. Walczyk was responsible for business plan projections, internal and external financial reporting, including initial and ongoing SEC filings, cash management and information systems.

He holds an accounting degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and is a Certified Public Accountant and worked in a "Big 4" accounting for 10 years. Mr. Walczyk is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Illinois CPA Society.
